Obituary: Patricia Payer-Kane
Payer-Kane was a former promo industry executive who passed away following a battle with brain cancer.
During her time in the promotional products business, Patricia Payer-Kane mentored many and was active in regional and national industry associations.
Her impact on the market will be remembered fondly by the promo pros who knew her, following her passing on Feb. 18. Payer-Kane died from complications tied to brain cancer.
“She will be remembered for her smile, laugh and unique words,” an obituary read. “She was always full of life.”
Payer-Kane was retired from promo for years. Her roles in the industry included serving as president of the former Impact Advertising, a Florida-based business. She also was vice president of California-based supplier International Merchandise Concepts.
Payer-Kane grew up in Beverly Hills, CA, the daughter of Edgar “Cookie” Fairchild, a composer, conductor and musical director on Broadway and in Hollywood. Before joining promo, Payer-Kane, a Cal State University Northridge graduate, was a high school French and Latin teacher.
Payer-Kane enjoyed travel, cooking, tennis and singing in local choirs. “Pat married the love of her life, Jack Kane, and they enjoyed their beach home together and treasured visits with friends and Jack’s children and grandchildren,” an obituary said.
