Why Closed-Loop Manufacturing Is Crucial
Bill Johnston of Recover Brands and Andy Bell of Boxercraft talk about sustainability and how to meet ESG goals.
Closed-loop manufacturing and the circular economy have become sustainability buzzwords in recent years, but Recover Brands has been in that space since well before these were well-known terms. The apparel brand, which is part of NG Labs, has been around since 2010 with a mission to make environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
In this episode of Promo Insiders, ASI Media’s Theresa Hegel chats with Bill Johnston, co-founder and president of Recover Brands, and Andy Bell, CEO of NG Labs brand Boxercraft (asi/41325), about the importance of closed-loop manufacturing and how the promotional products industry can help clients meet their ESG goals.
“When we design a product, our goal is to make sure that the materials that go into that product can stay in circulation,” Johnston says. “We think about using 100% recycled materials that are also 100% recyclable at the end of the garment’s life. So, when someone invests in a Recover product, we know that it’s infinitely recyclable and will never end up in the landfill, and that’s a big part of our company ethos and just our brand DNA to think about the circularity of things.”
